Hear candidates Tom Leonard (gubernatorial) and Eileen Tesch (Michigan Senate, District 12) present their platforms on how to win back Michigan and a Republican Trifecta at the next Eastside Republican Club forum, Tuesday, April 21.

Leonard, a lifelong Michigander and lawyer by trade, was nominated as state representative in 2012, and served as Speaker of the House in his third and last term. His major legislative achievements include mental health and teacher pension reforms, as well as tax relief. He also helped pass FOIA expansion and Michigan constitutional carry.  He has been a partner and shareholder at Plunkett Clooney Law Firm since 2020. 

Tesch, also a lifelong Michigander and lawyer, was mayor of Algonac in 2016 and currently is a podcaster and investigative journalist. Her political activism includes exposing waste, fraud, and abuse, and advocating for election integrity, government overreach, right to life, and parental rights. Tesch’s Republican primary competitor is Shelley Wright who spoke at the ERC in October, 2025. The winner will run against Kevin Hertel (D) in the November general election.
