Eastside Republican Club to host candidates running for United States Congress in 2026
The Eastside Republican Club will be hosting Republican candidates running for United States Senate and House of Representatives in 2026 at their next forum, Tuesday, January 20 at The War Memorial.
Republicans have the potential to pick up a senate seat where Donald Trump won in 2024, and Michigan is one of five pivotal states for the Republican Party to maintain its trifecta. Candidates up for election in the Michigan Republican Primary held August 4, 2026, include Mike Rogers, Genevieve Peters Scott, and Bernadette Smith. This will be an open seat in the November 3, 2026, General Election as Gary Peters (D) will not be running for a third term.
Republican candidates running for Michigan Congressional District 10 are Casey Armitage, Captain Mike Bouchard (son of Sheriff Bouchard), Steven Elliot, Cody Ingram, Justin Kirk, and Robert Lulgjuraj. This seat is currently held by John James (R) who is running for Michigan governor.
“We have a competitive field for both offices.” says Renee Strobl, Eastside Republican Club chair. “It will be interesting to hear these candidates’ winning messages including from the young, up-and-coming talent.”
The Republicans hold a thin majority in the United States Congress with all 435 House members and 33 Senate members up for election in 2026.
As of this writing, candidates Genevieve Peters Scott, Captain Mike Bouchard, Justin Kirk, and Robert Lulgjuraj will be speaking.
Doors open at 7 p.m. All are welcome.
